Foam Sclerotherapy with Ultrasound Guidance
Some veins that need to be treated are below the surface of the skin and cannot be injected safely without the aid of ultrasound imaging assistance. These veins are larger than spider veins but smaller than varicose veins. The solution is a mixture that resembles a “foam” which is injected into the larger vein. It destroys the inside of the vein walls causing them to stick together and close. We recommend wearing your compression stockings for 2-3 weeks following the surgery.
Post Foam Sclerotherapy
- You may experience bruising, and most commonly a hardness under the skin at the injection site. This will not be permanent and will take time to soften.
